FAITH-INDIA is combined short form of Foundation for Ability Improvement and Technology for the Handicapped - INDIA. FAITH - INDIA was established on 21-06-1989 in a sub-urban area of Ernakulam, when the disability scenario was lacking focus and facilities. Far from the obsolete programmes and projects, the organisation believes in innovation to meet the changing needs of the disabled

The founder
It was in the vision of Prof. K. A. Chandrasekharan, the idea bloomed; the idea of an organisation which works for the exaltation of all people with disabilities, irrespective of religion, caste, social status and even the type of disability. He himself being a Person with total Visual Impairment very well knew the needs, the barriers and the anguishes of disabled people

FAITH - INDIA now operate on a national jurisdiction and has now twenty major institutions and projects along with a number of other services and activities for the development, equalisation and full participation of persons belonging to all disability categories.

Principal objectives

  • Wholistic development and well being of persons with diverse Physical intellectual and mental disabilities

  •  Acquire and utilise "Enabling" scientific knowledge and technology development for achieving the objectives

  • To establish and maintain institutions, projects and programmes for the development of Persons with Disabilities

  • Conduct activities and services at different levels in support of and for promotion of awareness sensitization and advocacy among the disabled and in the society.

  • Accelerate economic development and inclusion of persons with disabilities.

  • Achieve inclusion and reduce pressure and cost of rehabilitation through early intervention.
